Quickwave and Vector sampling
Hi,
My second question was regarding using Quickwave. I tried to use the .vec file I have as the input file (it is a one hour continuous data set at 16 Hz) to get the wave data out of it, however I got the following notice:
'.. .whr does not contain wave burst data'.
Is there a particular mode in which the Vector should be run to get wave statistics out of it, using QuickWave?
Thanks!

Regarding the QuickWave question: there is some statistical limitations in wave processing which leads to some deployment planning rules/tips.
Could you please upload the data set to ftp://ftp.nortek-as.com/pub/incoming/ ? This will help understanding your problem better.
Best regards
Jonas
Dear Jonas,
Regarding the QuickWave issue, I have uploaded the file that you asked for (pivsyncrun002.vec) in the folder.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Hi,
I had a similar question; here is the answer I received from Torstein:
"Hello Ayal,
The Quickwave software is intended to only work with burst data. More
specifically meaningful bursts that use a sampling rate traditionally
used for wave measurements.
We recognize that there is a growing number of users that want to
correlate waves with properties such as turbulence and oxygen flux. We
intend to make a tool that downsamples, etc. so that the data file can
be processed in Quickwave. I am unsure if continuous sampling will be
included in this tool, at least in the first instance of this tool.
Sorry that I do not have a quick solution to provide. It actually
sounds like a good project for one of students - ie PUV wave processing.
kind regards,
Torstein"
In the meantime you may want to check out DIWASP - a Matlab package to process wave data;
